Day 1: Nairobi
Arrive at Nairobi International Airport where you are met by our representative
and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the Stanley Hotel or similar. (B&B)
Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara
This morning after breakfast, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to
Arusha. You are met on arrival and have lunch at the Impala Hotel. After lunch
proceed to Lake Manyara for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake
Manyara Serena Lodge. (BLD)
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast drive to the vast Serengeti Plains arriving in time for lunch at the Serengeti Serena Lodge. After a rest period, embark on an afternoon game drive. Overnight at the Serengeti Serena Lodge. (BLD)
Days 4 & 5: Serengeti National Park
Spend two full days tracking game through the inspiring landscapes of the Serengeti.
Return to the lodge for lunch. Witness the immensity of the park and the amazing
numbers of hoofed animals (zebra, wildebeest, antelopes…) as well as predators
it shelters during another exciting afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at
Serengeti Serena Lodge. (BLD)
Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge, known as the “berth of
humanity” for the remains of prehistoric inhabitants that were unearthed there. Lunch
is served at the lodge. In the afternoon, descend into the crater for an extraordinary
safari at the bottom of this collapsed volcano, where a variety of habitats shelter an amazing array of wildlife, surrounded by spectacular scenery. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (BLD)
Day 7: Arusha - Dar Es Salaam
After breakfast, depart for Arusha to catch your flight to Dar Es Salaam and onward connection to the Selous Game Reserve (daily flights depart 2:30 pm). Transfer from the airstrip to Rufiji River Camp. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive in Africa’s greatest wilderness. Meals and overnight at Rufiji River Camp. (LD)
Days 8 & 9: Selous Game Reserve
Explore the reserve through morning and afternoon excursions by car, boat or walks.
This animal kingdom boasts of over a million wild animals. It has the world’s largest number of big game such as elephant, buffalo, rhino, Sable Antelope and other species such as wildebeest, eland, giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, impala, leopard, lion... Countless hippos and crocodiles flock the Rufiji River (the greatest concentration in East Africa). There are over 350 bird species of birds found in this region. Day 10: Dar Es Salaam – Nairobi
After a morning game drive in the reserve and early lunch at the camp, fly back to Dar
Es Salaam where you connect with your flight to Nairobi and homebound flight. (BL)
